Dr Tan Chih Kiang completed his studies with MBBS from Universiti Perubatan Antarabangsa (IMU), Malaysia in 2005 and subsequently obtained his postgraduate diploma in Clinical Oncology from Universiti Malaya in 2017. He is the head of the radiotherapy unit at Sarawak General Hospital, and plays a key role in expanding radiotherapy services including the implementation of SRS services. The first radiosurgery case in East Malaysia was treated by his team at Sarawak General Hospital. Seterus, he was transferred to Institut Kanser Negara, Putrajaya and continued to lead the SRS team there before joining the private sector.
He has a deep interest in clinical research, and participated as a principal and co-investigator for various tests. He has published several posters and won merit awards and travel grants in regional conferences such as ESMO ASIA. He is also constantly sharing his knowledge in both local and regional conferences as a speaker.
