Dr. Sunu Raharjo, SpJP(K) graduated from the Faculty of Medicine, Gadjah Mada University (UGM), Yogyakarta and obtained his PhD from Kobe University. He also took the postdoctoral fellow program of Japan Society for the Promotion of Science.
After completing his heart and vascular specialist education program at the University of Indonesia (UI) Jakarta, he deepened his specialization by attending training in clinical electrophysiology, pacemaker installation and interventional cardiology at Harapan Kita National Heart Center. He also attended advanced clinical and interventional electrophysiology training at Veteran General Hospital, Taipei, Taiwan.
Dr. Sunu Raharjo has a long record in the development of medical science through research and other scientific activities including publication of research results and being a reviewer in scientific journals. Dr. Sunu Raharjo, SpJP(K) has performed more than 5,000 ablation cases and more than 1,000 device installations.
In several forums such as the Annual Meeting of the Indonesian Arrhythmia Association and the Annual Scientific Meeting of the Indonesian Cardiovascular Specialist Association (PERKI), Dr. Sunu Raharjo is involved as a member and even chairman of the scientific committee.
The Editor-in-Chief of the Indonesian Journal of Cardiology also played a role in the preparation of a number of PERKI guidelines on atrial fibrillation, Indonesia Case Based Groups (INA-CBGs) for arrhythmia, device therapy, and supraventricular tachycardia.
Dr. Sunu’s expertise is also recognized by medical professional organizations abroad. This is evidenced by Dr. Sunu’s membership in, among others, the electrophysiology ablation subcommittee and the basic research subcommittee of the Asia Pacific Arrhythmia Society.
Dr. Sunu Raharjo’s 16 scientific publications have been published in the peer-reviewed journal Medline. Not to mention there are at least 20 scientific articles in national journals and scientific proceedings.
Dr. Sunu Raharjo has also reviewed a number of journals such as the World Health Organization’s CVD Prevention & Control journal, Life Science journal, Acta Cardiologica Sinica of the Taiwan Arrhythmia Association, and PERKI’s Indonesian Journal of Cardiology.
For his significant role in the development of science, Dr. Sunu received a number of awards ranging from the Young Investigator Award for Foreign Researcher from The Japanese Circulation Society, Young Investigator Travel Award in The 9th International Conference on Endothelin, Utah, USA, to Excellent Researcher from Southeast Asian from the Southeast Asian-European Union-Net Mapping Study.
